My idea is:

when ALT is pressed, pressing the arrows to the left and right the selected object is rotated.

right arrow, would rotate clockwise (ALT + → )
left arrow would rotate in a counterclockwise direction (ALT + ← )

would be useful, what do you think?

That would be cool, except Ctrl might have to be used instead. Alt opens up the menu bar in firefox.
