just like the title says ... it would be great if we had the option to provide a link to an image we would like to use for our avatar instead of using gravatar.

i think it woult be better if you would support the community petition:

Player wich doesn't use Better Battlelog should see an other avatar, and that could lead to confusions. Its the same like with BBCodes in Platoon presentations.

Simple impossible. We cannot store settings on battlelog servers.
So nobody except you will see the avatar url.
