I would like to have an option to disable the update marker, because I don't need anything new to BBlog and the flashing marker is annoying.

No. It's highly recommended to update bblog or let bblog auto update.

If not, bblog will not work properly after some time of not updating and this maybe cause in unusable battlelog if some javascript error break the page.

I think he's mainly talking about the green icon jumping around on top of the BBLog Options icon.
